The Association of Symbolic Logic and Cambridge University Press are pleased to announce the founding of a new journal, The Review of Symbolic Logic. Joining the Journal of Symbolic Logic and the Bulletin of Symbolic Logic as the third official organ of the Association, RSL will publish research papers in:
· Philosophical and non-classical logics and their applications
· History and philosophy of logic
· Philosophy and methodology of mathematics
The first heading covers all areas of philosophical, non-classical, and algebraic logic, plus applications of these logics in such areas as computer science, linguistics, game theory and decision theory, formal epistemology, and cognitive science. The second is intended to include the history of philosophy of logic (an area understood as overlapping substantially with what’s often called ‘history of analytic philosophy’). In addition to the philosophy of mathematics, the third also covers methodological studies of mathematical practice, past and present. The Review welcomes submissions in all these areas. RSL will be published quarterly in print and electronic versions from mid-2008. Published Quarterly Published for the Association of Symbolic Logic
