Ferrol - Urban History
Franco Period
Tomb of a Navy officer, in Ferrol's graveyard (2004)

A segregated and militarized Ferrol returned with the Franco regime. The Navy officers once again occupied a place in the sun in local society. As late as 1972, three months after the demonstrations that rocked the city, one of these officers died and was buried in the new cemetery to the north of the city. On his tombstone, under his name, is carved: 'Captain'.
