Consolidation
Jofre Theatre (2004)

After the arson of the 'Theatre of the Comedy' in 1805, Ferrol lacked a good theatre. In 1862 a society was formed, including personalities from the world of politics and culture, aimed at solving the problem. Work was delayed until the 1880s, when a native from the city who had migrated to Buenos Aires, Joaquín Jofre, offered to pay the required amount. It was inaugurated in 1892 on a site donated by the city council, and its profits were destined to finance the Charity Hospital. In 1908 it also began life as a cinema.
