Ferrol's former prison (2004)
The construction of Ferrol's prison (1793-1802) took place during a time of social tension in the city. Perhaps this is why its solid walls were the temporary base of the town council (1802-47) in the years of major riots. Built alongside the Church of San Julián and in front of the Dock Gate, it came to form a part of the scenery on both sides of the 'Alameda' promenade.
