Cambridge University Press supports all journals publishing models that are scalable and financially sustainable, and able to maintain both the highest quality and the stewardship of the authoritative Version of Record.
Under Cambridge Open, we are offering the following open access models:
Gold Open Access is supported via Cambridge Open and we are also listed as a ‘Green’ publisher in the SHERPA/RoMEO database of publishers’ copyright and self-archiving policies.
Green Open Access is covered by the vast majority of our standard Copyright forms which automatically allow our authors to archive their Accepted Manuscripts in institutional repositories, on personal webpages and in subject repositories such as PubMed Central.

Cambridge complies with the requirements of the The Wellcome Trust, UKRC, HHMI, NIH and many other agencies. In addition the Cambridge Journals’ standard transfer of copyright agreement allows authors to place a copy of their Accepted Manuscript in a variety of places, including PMC. We allow the published Version Of Record to be made freely available under embargo of 12 months, post-publication, if the paper has not been published Open Access, and we offer authors the option to use CC licences on acceptance.
