The Society for Historians of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era (SHGAPE) is an organization of historians who study and promote knowledge of American history from the Reconstruction era through the aftermath of World War I.  Membership is open to academic, public, and independent historians, as well as scholars in other humanities and social-science disciplines interested in these decades and their issues.

The Journal of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era is a scholarly, peer-reviewed journal that publishes original essays and reviews scholarly books on all aspects of U.S. history from 1865 through 1920.
