The Canadian Linguistic Association, which was founded in 1955, has as its aim the promotion of the study of languages and linguistics in Canada. Membership in the CLA includes a subscription to the Canadian Journal of Linguistics, published by Cambridge University Press from 2016, and the right to give papers at the annual conference of the association.
