Parasitology is an important specialist journal covering the latest advances in the subject. It publishes original research and review papers on all aspects of parasitology and host-parasite relationships, including the latest discoveries in parasite biochemistry, molecular biology and genetics, ecology and epidemiology in the context of the biological, medical and veterinary sciences. Included in the subscription price are two special issues which contain reviews of current hot topics, one of which is the proceedings of the annual Symposia of the British Society for Parasitology, while the second, covering areas of significant topical interest, is commissioned by the editors and the editorial board.
All submitted manuscripts are subjected to the normal peer review process. Authors have the opportunity to identify preferred and non-preferred referees for their manuscript, albeit the final choices are made by the editors. Board members and referees who review manuscripts for Parasitology remain anonymous unless a referee chooses to reveal their identity. All information in a manuscript is treated as privileged by the reviewers. No reviewer is engaged where there is any possibility or appearance of any conflict of interest. Thus Editors of the journal who submit a manuscript are completely blinded to processing of their manuscript from submission to acceptance or rejection.
Parasitology Express
We have introduced Parasitology Express for rapid processing and publication online of short definitive reports of exciting developments with the potential for wider application and further exploration. Manuscripts for rapid turn-round should be formatted as for full length papers but should keep figures and tables preferably to one of each maximum, References should be restricted to the essential only and the article to no more than four pages of the journal.
