Experimental Physiology is a bimonthly journal publishing original work on all facets of physiology. Integrative studies on man and animals are emphasised and contributions range from the molecular level, through systems physiology, to the whole animal. Theoretical papers based on experimentally derived data are also included, as are pertinent methodological papers. Rapid Communications are short, high-quality papers published within 10 weeks. The Rapid Communications facility provides for online publication in advance of the printed journal, usually within six weeks of submission. Critical reviews invited from researchers working in rapidly developing areas of physiology are a distinctive feature. The Physiological Society’s Prize Lectures are published in the journal, as are selected papers from Physiological Society and other symposia. Commissioned book reviews are an added attraction.
