An Official Journal of the American Association for Applied Linguistics
Annual Review of Applied Linguistics reviews recent research in key areas of the broad field of applied linguistics. Each issue is thematic, covering the topic by means of research summaries and critical overviews. Every fourth or fifth issue takes a different approach by, for example, surveying applied linguistics as a field more broadly or including position statements and responses. ARAL provides cutting-edge and timely articles on language learning and pedagogy, second language acquisition, sociolinguistics, language policy, language assessment and research design and methodology, to name just a few of the areas covered.
