The Journal of African History publishes articles and book reviews ranging widely over the African past, from the late Stone Age to the present. Historical approaches to the precolonial, colonial, and postcolonial periods are all welcome. The thematic range is equally broad, covering social, economic, political, cultural, and intellectual history.
