Thomas J. Jablonsky is the Harry G. John Professor of Urban Studies at Marquette University and the author of Home, Heaven and Mother Party (1994) as well as Pride in the Jungle (1993). He is at work on a collective biography of the mayors of Los Angeles from 1850 to 1941.
