Birgit Meyer is Professor of Cultural Anthropology at VU University Amsterdam and Vice Chair of the IAI. Over the past 20 years she has been conducting research in Ghana (Volta Region and Accra). Her research interests include missionization and colonialism, Pentecostalism, popular culture and film, and religion and media.
