Charles Postel is assistant professor of history at San Francisco State University. His book, The Populist Vision (2007), won the 2008 Bancroft Prize and the 2008 Frederick Jackson Turner Award of the Organization of American Historians and was honorable mention for the 2009 Vincent P. DeSantis Book Prize of the Society for Historians of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era.
