Cynthia Chavez Metoyer is a professor at California State University, San Marcos. She teaches courses on Latin American Politics, Comparative Politics, and Gender and Development. She is author of Women and the State in Post Sandinista Nicaragua (2000), published by Lynne Rienner, and co-author of Women Legislators in Central America (2008), published by University of Texas Press. Metoyer has also published articles and book chapters on women and politics in Nicaragua.
