References

1 The cost of fitting Aristotle (together with the spurious and doubtful works which are included in the Oxford Translation) into 2,400 pages is the loss of the often very useful notes given by the original translators.

2 ‘Moral’ has been retained as the translation of ᾐθικ⋯ς, but footnotes advise the reader the sense in which it is being used.

3 The first edition's comma after [9] makes the sense clearer; its omission from the second is presumably just a misprint.
